PAS Scientific Centre in Paris
The mission of the Scientific Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Paris is to support international scientific cooperation, in particular Polish-French and Polish-Francophone cooperation. The establishment works to internationalise and promote the achievements of Polish science, cares for the development of Polish-French scientific contacts and supports Polish scientists carrying out research in France.
Conferences, symposia…
Conferences, symposia, lectures and exhibitions or concerts are organised at the headquarters of the Scientific Centre of PAN in Paris. The Centre’s priority is the interdisciplinarity and multidisciplinarity of the events organised: they range from the social sciences and humanities to the natural sciences, engineering and technology, agriculture, medical and health sciences. The station cooperates with international organisations such as UNESCO and the OECD, and its activities are also part of its science diplomacy activities.
Publishing activities
Since 1998, the Centre in Paris has been publishing ‘Annales’ (‘Annales’), which contain a calendar of events, texts of lectures and conferences, and memoirs of eminent scientists. In addition to its own publishing activities, the Station co-finances the publication of publications important to French-Polish scientific relations. The Centre houses a library whose book collection concerns the historical and cultural links between France and Poland, the history of Polish science and the diversity of Polish cultural heritage.
Information about events can be followed on the website and on the Centre’s social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn).
