The Center’s employees participate in international observation projects such as H.E.S.S., CTA (very high energy gamma ray observations), Herschel (satellite infrared observations), SALT (optical telescope approx. 10 m in diameter, located in South Africa), INTEGRAL, Fermi (satellite gamma ray observations), LIGO-VIRGO (detection of gravitational waves) . The Center is carrying out the SOLARIS research project to search for extrasolar planetary systems, funded in part by the European Research Council. CAMK also operates a ground-based communication center for Polish scientific satellites BRITE.

CAMK runs a doctoral program and promotes research, among other things, through popular science lectures entitled “Meetings with Astronomy.”
