Committee on Analytical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences
The Analytical Chemistry Committee operates within Division III.
Its structure comprises 10 teams representing all areas of analytical chemistry. The Committee was first established in 1975. However, its history dates back to 15 September 1955, when the Analytical Commission was established within the Committee on Chemical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences. It was a unit created for the development of analytical chemistry during the post-war reconstruction of Poland. At that time, the emphasis was on coordinating the activities of university staff, newly established scientific and research institutes, and industry. Its primary goal was to lay the foundations for modern ‘chemical analytics,’ which was becoming increasingly important in the development of civilisation, especially in the exact, technical, and natural sciences.
