Committee on Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences
The Committee was first established in 1952.
The Committee strives to bring together representatives of mathematicians from all scientific centres in Poland.
The Committee’s tasks include: designing a network of research centres, training and development projects for research staff, with particular emphasis on the Academy’s centres, postgraduate studies at the Academy’s centres, scholarships for research staff, developing guidelines for mathematical publications on a national scale, in particular for the Academy’s publications and those subsidised by it, issuing opinions on mathematical congresses and conferences, participating in foreign congresses, matters relating to scientific libraries and coordinating their equipment networks, guidelines for the activities of the Polish Mathematical Society, and the popularisation of mathematics.
