Polish Academy of Sciences Lublin Branch

The Lublin Branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences was established pursuant to Resolution No. 1/97 of the General Assembly of the Polish Academy of Sciences of 23 May 1997. In accordance with the Resolution, the Lublin Branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences commenced its activities on 1 January 1998.

The Lublin Branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences operates on the basis of the Statute of the Lublin Branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences, adopted on 22 March 2011 by the Presidium of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

About the branch

In accordance with its Statutes, the Lublin Branch performs the following tasks:

  • Integration of scientific life and cooperation with all scientific institutions in the region.
  • Supporting scientific and development work of significant importance for the national economy and culture, with particular emphasis on issues important for the area of its activity, and participating in the dissemination and promotion of its results.
  • Popularising the role played by the Academy on a national and international scale within the Branch’s area of activity.
  • Acquiring European funds and other funds from foreign sources for the implementation of scientific research and development work.
  • Cooperating with local government bodies and government administration bodies in the province.
  • Initiating and conducting international scientific cooperation with European Union member states and other countries.

The Branch’s area of activity covers the Lublin Province.
