Committee on Animal Science and Aquaculture of the Polish Academy of Sciences

The Committee on Zootechnical Sciences was first established in 1957 as part of the Division of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences.


The Committee’s scope of activity includes:

  • Analysis and assessment of the state of zootechnical and fisheries science and education;
  • Providing opinions on draft legislation in the field of the scientific discipline;
  • Cooperation with government and local government authorities, scientific societies, industry associations and economic entities;
  • Awarding an annual prize for research achievements or academic textbooks;
  • Opinion on applications for Division II awards and candidates for membership of the Polish Academy of Sciences;
  • (Co-)organisation of scientific conferences and webinars.
