Committee on Geographical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences

The Committee was first established in 1952.
The Committee plays an integrating role for geographers of all specialisations, representing Polish academic institutions, research institutes and the Institute of Geography and Spatial Management of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The Committee’s mission is to coordinate scientific and organisational activities relevant to the entire community of geographers in Poland and to create and implement new research directions resulting from the dynamics of physical-geographical and socio-economic processes and phenomena occurring at the global, regional and local levels. A significant part of the Committee’s work is devoted to geographical education, both at school and university level.
