Committee on Legal Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences
The Committee on Legal Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences was first established in 1952. Since its inception, the Committee has been monitoring and analysing changes in the field of social sciences in the discipline of legal sciences. The Committee’s extensive activity to date has always been inextricably linked to the condition of the country and the international structures to which Poland belongs. This observation applies in particular to the last two terms of the Committee, which took place during a period of democratic decline in Poland. The Committee strives to respond to changes that may adversely affect the legal situation of individuals or the functioning of the state. Since its inception, the Committee has served as a forum bringing together representatives of legal sciences from various academic centres in Poland.
