Committee on Organisation and Management Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences
The Committee on Organisation and Management Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences was first established in 1969. Its primary task was to ‘initiate, organise, coordinate and supervise research in the field of the science of production of goods and services and management.’ In the early days of the Committee, its members were mainly representatives involved in the organisation of production. This was due to several reasons, including the fact that this knowledge was mainly developed in Poland at technical universities, among engineers, and political conditions that discriminated against this knowledge in terms of research (basic research) and emphasised its practical value in the form of introducing various manifestations of it as solutions for technical and organisational progress.
