Committee on Organism Biology, Polish Academy of Sciences

The Committee on Organismal Biology (KBO) was established for the first time by a resolution of the General Assembly of the Polish Academy of Sciences on 3 December 2015. KBO was created as a result of the reorganisation of the structure of Division II of Biological and Agricultural Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences, which involved reducing the number of committees from 25 to 9. In its activities, it draws on the traditions of five committees operating in the years 1952-2015, namely the Committee on Anthropology, the Committee on Botany, the Committee on Physiology, Genetics and Plant Breeding, the Committee on Parasitology and the Committee on Zoology. The first term of office began on 15 May 2016.
