Committee on Pedagogical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences

The Committee was first established in 1953. Since its establishment, the Committee on Pedagogical Sciences has focused on: analysing and evaluating the development of pedagogical sciences, considering important issues in pedagogy, organising scientific sessions and conferences, and disseminating the results of scientific research, initiating and developing cooperation with foreign organisations and scientific centres, conducting assessments of the state and needs of pedagogical sciences and scientific institutions, on its own initiative or at the request of the institutions supervising them, preparing scientific expert opinions, diagnosing the state of education, training academic and educational staff in the field of pedagogy, evaluating reform measures in the national education system, developing new concepts and proposals for model solutions concerning education, training and improving scientific staff in the field of pedagogy, and teacher training.
