Committee on Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences

The Physics Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences was first established in 1952.

At the time of its establishment, the Committee had 22 members. In its current term, it has 65 members. The increase in the number of members means that the Committee more fully represents the entire community of physicists in the country. The majority of the Committee’s members in all terms have been academic teachers, representing the largest community of Polish physicists. From the very beginning, the Physics Committee has worked closely with the Polish Physical Society (PTF). The president of the PTF participates in the work of the Committee. It has also established cooperation with the Forum of Deans and Directors of Physics Institutes (FORUM).
