Committee on Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences
The Committee on Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences (KCh PAN) is a collegial body of Division III of the Polish Academy of Sciences operating within the field of chemical sciences.
For over 70 years, it has been continuously pursuing its mission, playing an important role in shaping the chemical sciences in Poland. It serves as a natural link between the Polish Academy of Sciences and the community of chemists working in the national science and higher education system. The Committee consists of representatives of universities, scientific institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences, as well as representatives of the chemical industry and invited experts.
The overarching goal of the KCh PAN is to integrate the community of Polish chemists by creating a national forum for dialogue, exchange of ideas, experiences and views on topics relevant to this community. The activities of the Committee on Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences focus on supporting the development of chemistry as a science of fundamental importance for the advancement of knowledge and the development of modern technologies. The Committee acts as an advisory and consultative body, monitors the state and needs of the discipline, and supports initiatives promoting chemical sciences in the public sphere.
The Committee on Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences represents Poland in the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC).
