Library activities

The activities of the Station are focused on two areas: library and science. The main profile of the library and archive is Polish-Italian relations in all fields of science. Thanks to grant projects, a number of works have been carried out to develop valuable old prints, manuscripts and other archival documents. The largest of these was the development and digitisation of the Piattole manuscript archive (http://piattoli-archive.eu/). Today, the Roman Centre’s book collection is recognised as one of the most valuable library collections abroad.

The second filer of the Centre is scientific activity. Over the years, a number of readings, lectures and conferences have been held, enabling scholars to present their research and establish contacts with other researchers. The most recent meeting in 2021 was the international conference ‘Polish-Italian artistic contacts 1871–1939’, co-organised with the Polish Institute of World Art Studies and the Polish Institute in Rome.
