PAS Representative Office in Kyiv

The PAS Representative Office in Kyiv has been operating since 2013, so it is the youngest foreign station of the Polish Academy of Sciences. It is also the only PAN unit operating outside the European Union.

The Representation is responsible for maintaining and developing cooperation between Polish and Ukrainian scientific and research institutions. It organises undertakings promoting bilateral and multilateral scientific cooperation, above all conferences, workshops and seminars. It also supports the personal exchange of scientists, which enables the development of contacts and is the basis for long-term cooperation between scientific units.

Cooperation

Partners in Ukraine include units of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, local universities, analytical and research centres, as well as NGOs and accredited international organisations. The Representation also cooperates with Polish institutions operating in Ukraine – the Polish Embassy in Kyiv and the Polish Institute.

Bilateral scientific cooperation has been growing rapidly in recent years. Dozens of events have been organised and many researchers and experts representing almost all fields of science have visited Ukraine.
