Macroeconomist and econometrician, full member of the Polish Academy of Sciences, creator of macromodels of the Polish national economy used repeatedly for forecasting and analysis of alternative economic policies. For more than 2 decades he collaborated with Nobel Prize winner Lawrence R. Klein, with whom he published the book Principles of Macroeconometric Modeling (North-Holland). He has authored numerous articles on econometric theory, applied econometrics and time series analysis. Founder and editor-in-chief of the Central European Journal of Economic Modelling and Econometrics. He heads the Department of Econometric Models and Forecasting at the University of Lodz. He has also taught at the Warsaw School of Economics for many years. He is the first Vice-President of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
