Marek Samoć

Marek Samoc is a physical chemist and materials scientist with special interest in applications of optical effects resulting from interactions of intense laser light with matter. His research experience includes postdoctoral stays at NRC Canada and Dartmouth College and he worked for extended periods of time at University at Buffalo and at Laser Physics Centre at the Australian National University (1991-2008). Since 2008 he has been heading a group at the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology in Poland, with the main research focus on nanobiophotonics and nonlinear optical effects. Marek Samoc co-authored over 400 publications and his achievements were recognized, among others, by a prestigious Foundation for Polish Science Prize and membership in the Polish Academy of Sciences.
