Committee on Materials Engineering and Metallurgy of the Polish Academy of Sciences
The Committee on Materials Engineering and Metallurgy of the Polish Academy of Sciences was first established in 2019 as a result of the merger of the Committee on Materials Science and the Committee on Metallurgy.
Its areas of interest and activity include physicochemical and structural phenomena, relationships between chemical composition, manufacturing technology and properties, criteria for selecting materials for specific applications, theoretical and practical aspects of the science of metals and other materials, including plastic working, casting, metallurgy, extractive metallurgy, process modelling and virtualisation, and artificial intelligence issues.
The scope of activity includes: metallic, ceramic, polymeric, organic materials, composites, metal-bearing raw materials, including traditional and advanced materials with a high degree of processing, having a unique complex of functional properties (gradient materials, amorphous materials, ultraporous materials, biomaterials, 2D materials, nanomaterials, coatings, nanomaterials, metallic glasses), as well as classical materials engineering and biomedical engineering.
