Visit of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences delegation to Poland
On March 13, 2025, a Scientific Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAS) and the Mongolian Academy of Sciences (MAS) at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw. The document was signed by the President of PAS, Prof. Marek Konarzewski, and the President of MAS, Prof. Demberel Sodnomsambuu. During the ceremony at the Presidential Palace, a Memorandum of Understanding was also concluded between the Institute of Paleobiology of the PAS and the Institute of Paleontology of the MAS.
After the ceremony at the Presidential Palace, a meeting was held between the delegations of both countries at the PAS headquarters. The meeting was attended by Prof. Marek Konarzewski, President of the PAS, Prof. Mirosława Ostrowska, Vice-President of the PAS, and Prof. Jarosław Stolarski, Director of the Institute of Paleobiology of the PAS, while the Mongolian side was represented by Prof. Demberel Sodnomsambuu, President of MAS, and Dr. Badamkhatan Zorigt, Director of the Institute of Paleontology of the MAS. The key part of the meeting was the signing of the Executive Protocol to the aforementioned Cooperation Agreement between PAS and MAS for the years 2025-2027.
It is worth emphasizing that in 2025, it marks 75 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Poland and Mongolia. The cooperation between PAS and Mongolia is being successfully carried out through joint research projects and personnel exchange by the PAS Institute of Geography and Spatial Organization and the PAS Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology. Both Academies aim to apply for joint grants in the future to enable the financing of scientific research as well.
