Forum Akademii V4 w Smolenicach na Słowacji (17–18.06.2026)

W dniach 17–18 czerwca przedstawiciele Polskiej Akademii Nauk uczestniczyli w Forum Akademii V4, które odbyło się w Smolenicach na Słowacji.

Pierwszy dzień spotkania poświęcony był dyskusjom akademii z państw reprezentowanych w grupie V4 (Polskiej Akademii Nauk, Słowackiej Akademii Nauk, Czeskiej Akademii Nauk oraz Węgierskiej Akademii Nauk) na temat obecnej i przyszłej roli akademii nauk w społeczeństwie oraz wyzwań związanych z przyszłością akademii, w tym związanych z programami UE po 2028 r. Ze strony PAN prezentacje przedstawiła dyrektorka Biura Współpracy z Zagranicą, Agnieszka Stefaniak-Hrycko (Academies as Trusted Advisors: The Role of PAS in Evidence-Based Public Policy Science Trust and Public Responsibility in Times of Societal Uncertainty i New Horizons for PAS: towards a Modern Academy 2027–2030).

Rozmowy pokazały, że akademie państw Grupy Wyszehradzkiej mierzą się z podobnymi wyzwaniami dotyczącymi m.in. wspierania jakości badań naukowych, budowania nowoczesnej roli nauki w społeczeństwie, komunikacji z decydentami oraz finansowania działalności naukowej. Spotkanie było okazją do wymiany doświadczeń, dobrych praktyk i strategii odpowiadania na te wyzwania.

Drugiego dnia Forum tematem przewodnim było bezpieczeństwo badań naukowych. Wykład poświęcony roli akademii nauk w ograniczaniu wpływu dezinformacji naukowej wygłosił Wiceprezes PAN, prof. Dariusz Jemielniak. Ważnym punktem programu było wręczenie nagród w konkursie „Visegrad Group Academies Young Researcher Award 2026”. Tegorocznym laureatem nominowanym przez PAN został dr Szymon Nakoneczny z Centrum Fizyki Teoretycznej PAN, specjalizujący się w astrofizyce i kosmologii. Serdecznie gratulujemy!

On 17–18 June, the Polish Academy of Sciences actively participated in the V4 Academies Forum held in Smolenice, Slovakia.

The first day of the Forum brought together representatives of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Slovak Academy of Sciences, the Czech Academy of Sciences and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences to discuss the current and future role of academies in society, as well as challenges related to EU programmes beyond 2028. Presentations were delivered by Agnieszka Stefaniak-Hrycko, Director of the Office for International Cooperation of the PAS (Academies as Trusted Advisors: The Role of PAS in Evidence-Based Public Policy Science Trust and Public Responsibility in Times of Societal Uncertainty; New Horizons for PAS: towards a Modern Academy 2027 – 2030).

The discussions highlighted that the Visegrad academies face many similar challenges such as enhancing the quality of scientific research, shaping the modern role of science in society, communicating effectively with policymakers, and securing sustainable funding for research. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange experiences, good practices and strategies for addressing these issues.

The second day focused on research security. A presentation on the role of academies in countering scientific disinformation was delivered by Prof. Dariusz Jemielniak, Vice-President of the PAS. Another important highlight of the Forum was the presentation of the Visegrad Group Academies Young Researcher Award 2026. This year’s PAS laureate was Dr. Szymon Nakoneczny from the Centre for Theoretical Physics PAS, whose research focuses on astrophysics and cosmology. Congratulations!
