Call for PAS–RA joint mobility projects

The Polish Academy of Sciences (PAS) and the Romanian Academy (RA) are pleased to announce a call for joint mobility research projects to be carried out in the years 2027-2029 within the framework of the Agreement on scientific cooperation between PAS and RA.

 Submission deadline:

Till 15 October 2026

In Poland: the attached application form should be completed and submitted only by e-mail to Jolanta Krześniak at the following email address: Jolanta.Krzesniak@pan.pl.

In Romania: the applications submitted by the Romanian researchers should be sent by e-mail to Tatiana Oprescu at the following email address: oprescu@acad.ro.

Funding
  • the projects PAS–RA will be carried out according to the cost sharing system i.e.: the sending side covers the costs of international travel to the place of destination in the partner country (documented by copies of invoices, bills, economy class airline ticket or vehicle mileage logs) and the receiving side pays for the costs of stay of the foreign visitors (daily allowances and accommodation) and travel expenses within the host country according to the accepted scientific program of the visit,
  • the number of projects approved in the years 2027-2029 and the maximum quota for mobility under each project will depend on the budgetary situation of PAS and RA.
Additional information
  • applications can be submitted:
    • on the Polish side only by researchers employed by research units of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAS). The project may also include researchers affiliated with the PAS and researchers from other scientific institutions in Poland, as designated by the project Polish coordinator;
    • on the Romanian side by researchers from the Romanian Academy’s network of research institutes and from scientific institutions in Romania (including researchers affiliated with the Romanian Academy), as designated by the Romanian project coordinator, who must be a researcher from the Romanian Academy’s network of research institutes;
  • the proposed mobility project may cover all fields of science,
  • applications are evaluated separately in Poland and in Romania in accordance with the procedures adopted by each party,
  • applications for projects submitted in only one of the above-mentioned countries will be rejected as non-compliant with the rules of the call,
  • Polish and Romanian researchers should have insurance entitling the holder to free emergency medical treatment in the host country (European Health Insurance Card).
 Formal evaluation on the Polish side

The purpose of the formal evaluation is to determine whether the submitted application is complete and complies with the formal requirements specified in the application form. If any irregularities are identified, the Applicant will be given the opportunity to supplement or correct the application within a maximum of 5 working days from the date of receiving such information from the PAS International Cooperation Department.

Substantive evaluation

Evaluation of applications is conducted by the relevant Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences, according to the following scheme:

Feasibility within the proposed timeframe and budget feasibility of project implementation in light of the proposed plan, available resources, and schedule

Final decision on applications recommended for implementation is made by the Vice-President of the Polish Academy of Sciences responsible for international cooperation.

Applications with the highest substantive evaluation scores will be selected for implementation, provided that they obtain no less than 60% of the maximum possible number of points.
