Brussels

Since 2006, the Polish Science Contact Agency (PolSCA) of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Brussels has been working to promote the participation of the Polish scientific community in the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation – Horizon Europe. The Office places particular emphasis on increasing the participation of male and female researchers from the Polish Academy of Sciences and the participation of PAN Institutes in European projects and initiatives. It does this by creating information exchange networks, organising events, developing thematic guides and supporting the search for partners for joint projects.

The tasks of the Office also include the monitoring of European Union policies and strategies in the field of research and innovation and the organisation of events focused on these areas (e.g. the European Research Area). In this context, the unit cooperates with liaison offices – PolSCA’s counterparts in other European countries – within the IGLO network (the Informal Group of RTD Liaison Offices), with the National Contact Point and the NCRD Office in Brussels operating at Business Science Poland.

In addition, the PolSCA Office organises numerous events aimed at Polish scientists to familiarise them with the activities of the international scientific community, the programmes and objectives of the European Commission and the offer of funding for transnational research. These include cyclical V4 Training for outstanding science managers from Polish universities and scientific institutes (carried out in cooperation with Visegrad Group countries), regular PolSCA webinars on Horizon Europe, seminars or other international thematic events. In addition, as part of the Academy’s research-oriented activities, in synergy with the PASIFIC project, the Office animates and supports the operation of a network of research managers working in PAN institutes – Horizon Europe NAVIGATORS.
